Overview
The Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030) program provides high-quality education and training opportunities in Canada, including vocational and technical training. The initiative is designed to enhance access to higher education while promoting social and economic development in 26 eligible countries.
Funded by Global Affairs Canada, this eight-year program (2022-2030) is aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to reduce inequalities while improving the lives of scholars and their communities.
Host Institutions
Scholarships are available through Canadian universities and institutions participating in the program. Each institution offers different levels of study and specialized projects.

Levels and Fields of Study
Each scholarship project supports different study levels, which may include:
- Vocational and technical training
- Bachelor's degree programs

Number of Scholarships
Approximately 600 scholars from partner countries will receive study and training scholarships in Canada. At least 51% of recipients will be women, promoting gender equity in higher education.
Eligible Countries
Scholarships are available to students from the following 26 BCDI 2030 eligible countries:
Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia
Caribbean: Haiti
Scholarship Value and Duration
The value and duration of the scholarship vary based on the specific project. Scholarships typically cover tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs, and other allowances as per project guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
- Direct individual applications are not accepted. Eligibility is determined through project partnerships between a Canadian higher education institution (HEI) and an HEI from an eligible country.
- Canadian HEIs and their international partners launch the calls for applications and select recipients based on criteria set by the institutions and the BCDI 2030 program.
- Applicants must meet the admission criteria set by the participating HEIs.
