 for International students

Sweden Scholarships for Medical and Health Science students is offering Karolinska Institute presents of tuition fee scholarships to excellent students who have been admitted to one of their Global Master’s Programs starting each autumn semester. The amount of scholarships is a maximum of 10 per year, spread to all the Global Master’s Programs.

Applicant award method

An applicant is awarded points based on the average of the points awarded by each assessor of the application, according to five different categories. The current merit evaluation model for the Master's Programme in  is described below.

1. Subject focus of bachelor’s/undergraduate level studies - 40 Maximum Points

2. Relevant professional and/or research experience (extracurricular) - 30 Maximum Points

3. Ambition and initiative (extracurricular activities) - 20 Maximum Points

4. Statement of intent -  30 Maximum Points

 

This is made based on an overall assessment of all verified qualifications/merits. For example, in addition to the above categories, the following may be considered: a very good application as a whole; research performed within academic studies; biomedical courses or projects; commitment and/or motivation; grades; relevant Master's or other education in addition to a Bachelor's degree.

BENEFITS OF AWARD Scholarship Holders

Waiver off Tuition fee and Application fee. Living cost and other expenses are to be borne by the applicant.

Special note for waived off Tuition fee

1. have Swedish citizenship
2. have been granted permanent Swedish residency
3. have been granted temporary Swedish residency for reasons other than studies (Having a temporary residence permit for studies in Sweden does NOT grant you an exemption from fee payments)
4. have citizenship in an EU or EEA country or Switzerland
5. are a family member of a citizen of an EU or EEA country and have temporary or permanent right of residence in Sweden
6. are a family member of a citizen of Switzerland and have been granted Swedish residency
