What are the requirements of the Romania visas?
- A Romania visa application form, which you can download from the website of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The application form has to be completed in a typed letter and signed.
- For minors: The parent/s or legal guardian/s who has custody over the minor have to sign the application form.
- Two recent pictures are in line with the Romania visa photo requirements (see below).
- A valid passport or travel document, which:
- Is recognized by Romania
- Is valid for at least another three months after your visa expires
- Was issued in the previous ten years
- Has at least two blank pages where the Romania consular staff can affix your visa.
- Travel medical insurance is valid in the EU and covers at least €30,000 for medical emergencies.
- Proof of sufficient financial means to cover the duration of your stay in Romania. You must have at least €50 per day, but no less than €500 overall (or its equivalent in your country’s currency).
- You may submit proof of financial means through official bank statements.
- If you are traveling as part of an organized tour or group and have pre-paid accommodation and services in Romania, you can submit that as part of a proof of financial means.
- Proof of accommodation in Romania, whether that’s a reservation in a hotel, a letter of invitation from a family member/friend, or other means of accommodation.
- Your flight ticket. If you are driving there, submit your driving license, green card, and your vehicle registration.
- Any additional documents which correspond to the purpose of your travel.
Romania C Visa Requirements
- Letter of invitation from a Romanian company, if you are traveling for business purposes.
- Letter of invitation from the event organizers, if you are traveling for a sports event.
- Any other documents which are specific to your purpose of travel.
Romania Long Stay Visa Requirements
- If you are traveling for employment/professional purposes, proof you are authorized to exercise your profession.
- If you are traveling for employment purposes, work authorization
- Proof you can financially sustain yourself for the duration of your stay
- If you are traveling for studying, you must submit proof of enrollment in a Romanian educational institution and proof of paid fees.
- If you are traveling for family reunification, proof of family relations.
- Proof of accommodation for the duration you will be living in Romania.
Romania Transit Visa Requirements (A and B type)
- The Romania Airport Transit Visa (A Type), allows the holder to enter the international area of a Romanian airport and catch a connecting flight to another destination.
- The Romania Transit Visa (B Type), allows the holder to travel through the territory of Romania for a maximum of 5 days, on their way to another country.

Romania Visa Photo Requirements
- Dimensions: 3cm x 4cm where your face takes up 70% – 80% of the picture.
- Background: Plain white – without any patterns or decorations.
- Photo quality: The picture must be professionally taken, with a high resolution. There must not be any shadows, exposure, or glare.
- Facial expression: You must have a neutral facial expression, staring straight ahead at the camera. Your hair cannot cover your face.
- Attire and accessories:
- Headgear is generally not allowed unless it is worn for religious purposes. Even so, the headpiece cannot cover the face.
- If you wear glasses normally, you may keep them, but make sure they do not have any glare or thick rims that obstruct your eyes or your face. But if you want to ensure your picture is acceptable, remove them. Tinted eyeglasses are not
- Specifications for young children: If your child cannot sit up on their own, they must be pictured from above. You may not be in the picture with them, even if it’s just your hands propping them up.
