The University of Nottingham is a public research university in Nottingham, United Kingdom. It was founded as University College Nottingham in 1881 and was granted a royal charter in 1948. The University of Nottingham belongs to the elite research-intensive Russell Group association.

Campus and teaching hospital (Queen's Medical Centre) are located within the
City of Nottingham, with a number of smaller campuses and sites elsewhere in
Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Outside the UK, the university has campuses in
Semenyih, Malaysia, and Ningbo, China. Nottingham is organized into five
constituent faculties, within which there are more than 50 schools,
departments, institutes, and research centers. Nottingham has about 45,500
students and 7,000 staff and had an income of £694 million in 2020–21, of
which £114.9 million was from research grants and contracts. The
institution's alumni have been awarded 3 Nobel Prizes, a Fields Medal, a Turner
Prize, and a Gabor Medal and Prize. The university is a member of the
Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association,
the Russell Group, Universitas 21, Universities UK, the Virgo Consortium, and
participates in the Sutton Trust Summer School program as a member of the
Sutton 30.
Number of Scholarships
The University of Nottingham is offering 105 scholarships
covering 50% or 100% of full-time master's tuition fees. These are available for
high-achieving international students who live in Africa, South Asia, or
selected Commonwealth countries.

Kiribati, Malaysia, Maldives, Montserrat, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New
Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St Helena, St
Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tonga, Trinidad and
Tobago, Tristan da Cunha, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
Eligibility
- To apply for this scholarship, you must:
- be domiciled in Africa, India, or one of the selected Commonwealth countries listed above
- be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
- hold an offer to start a full-time master's (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham UK in September or October 2022, studying in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science, or Faculty of Social Sciences
- As well as the Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship, you can apply for one of our regional Postgraduate Excellence Awards. You can be considered for multiple international scholarships but you will only be awarded one.

- You have already studied outside of your home country
- You are currently studying in the UK
Application criteria
- In your application, you will be asked about your achievements, study plans, and reasons for choosing to study with us. You should also evidence how studying at the University of Nottingham will help you contribute to the development of your home country.
- Make sure you have enough time to prepare strong answers. We will assess your responses and academic merit when making scholarship decisions.
Scholarship requirements
- You do not need to respond to your offer before submitting your application for this scholarship, however, awards will only be made to students who accept their offer to study with The University.
- The University will assess all scholarship applications before making any awards. You may be offered a scholarship of either 50% or 100% of tuition fees. They will contact you in early July 2022 to confirm the outcome of your application.
- If you are awarded this scholarship, it will be deducted from the tuition fees charged to you as a student at the University of Nottingham. They will not pay tuition fee scholarships to you directly.
- This award cannot be combined with another University of Nottingham regional scholarship or an International Sporting Excellence Award.
- However, you may be able to receive an additional subject scholarship from your academic school, sports scholarship package, or external scholarship from your country, where the combined total does not exceed 100% of tuition fees. This could include, for example, an award from Nottingham University Business School and/or the government or another funding body in your country.
